Somatic Therapy

  • EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy is a comprehensive, trauma-informed therapy that integrates knowledge from neuroscience with mindfulness, cognitive therapy, and body-awareness approaches. It facilitates transformational change by helping people access their inner resiliency and process previously unhealed traumatic memories so they no longer have an influence in the present.

  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

EFT, also known as tapping, is an evidence-based energy psychology that uses the body’s meridian points to release stuck thoughts and emotion. This gentle practice is effective in reducing our body’s nervous system response and for letting go of unwanted dis-ease.

  • Mindfulness

Using body awareness strategies and cognitive mindsets to stay present in the moment with all thoughts, feelings, and experiences is a wonderful practice that can be taught in therapy and carried out in every day living.

EMDR

In addition to healing trauma, EMDR therapy has been found effective in treating a wide variety of current day struggles from depression and anxiety to phobias, public speaking, anger, addictions, pain disorders, and sleep difficulties.

Tapping is a wonderful technique that can be used both in and out of therapy. This gentle technique allows the body to release stuck emotion that often causes stress responses and emotional dysregulation. Tapping allows the body to resolve unprocessed “stuff” often leaving clients feeling more relaxed, capable of handling life’s curveballs, and energized.
